Substance Use and Music Music and substance use has a long and complex history, at once respected as part of the art and creative drive of musicians and in turn villified as a threat to the moral fabric of society. At different periods throughout history, we wittness conventional soceity turning a blind eye to the influence of drugs within music. At other times music appears as the voice of revolutionary spirit, a voice that the authorities can no longer ignore. |
