Every year the Museum acknowledges the work of those bands whose music has been influenced by the use of drugs or have described some aspect of drug culture in their songs.. 2012 has focused on a a particular genre of rock and roll, including the influences of Punk and New Wave.

Following a period of voting by the general public and deliberation by the League of Antiquarians, we are pleased to announce that Iggy Pop has been awarded the prestigious Golden Opium Pipe Award 2012.
